About

I have been fascinated with questions of consciousness, identity and reality since reading Herman Hesse’s Siddhartha in a high school English class. During my undergraduate experience, I continued my explorations by joining a weekly Buddhist meditation sitting, and studying Latin and Ancient Greek. I received a PhD in Classics in 2016. My dissertation illuminated the reception of ancient philosophy by women in the Italian Renaissance.

The name Incidental Buddhist reflects the many stepping stones I’ve happened upon along my way. Every month, I release a book review on a nonfiction work. Each selection has helped me understand more about our universe and challenged my preconceived notions about reality.

In addition, Patreon members receive a discussion guide to a monthly trio of selections. Use these for self-study, or in your own book club.

I hope these selections can be stepping stones for you, too, along your path, whatever that may be.

May all beings benefit.
